Summary: One part of a three bill package, also known as the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA), defines: GSA’s jurisdiction, a standard criterion for management plans, and outline local boundaries for groundwater basins. DWR will prioritize all groundwater basins based on overdraft severity of high, medium and low priority. GSA will provide a groundwater sustainability plan based on DWR’s priority list.
